SONGS YOU LOVE TO HEAR (Volume 1)

Songs You Love to Hear, the initial album of the Series, features 14 of Barbara’s all-time favorites, including 12 solos along with two bonus tracks of Barbara and Johnny Kirby in duet. Beyond a retrospective look at her career in radio, the liner notes trace the history of the show and how a few of its nearly 70-year old broadcast discs were discovered and restored.

FALLING IN LOVE WITH LOVE (Songs You Love To Hear: Volume 2)

Falling in Love with Love, the second release of this multi-volume set of recordings, is a collection of love songs dedicated to the memories of those she loves and has loved, especially her now-deceased husband, Lloyd F. Stamy. In mostly her own words, the liner notes recount that courtship, their marriage, and the inspiration of family, musical colleagues, mentors and friends who enabled her career. Accordingly, most of the 14 songs are happy, a few reflectively sentimental, but all enjoyable.

SAY IT WITH MUSIC (Songs You Love To Hear: Volume 3)

Say it with Music, the third album of the Series, includes 14 popular love songs together with a bonus track of Barbara singing a jazzy version of “Abide with Me” accompanied by the Shadyside Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir that was recorded in the late 1970s, or three decades after her final radio broadcast.  The liner notes offer an intimate glimpse of the singer’s life and her career while providing some tips on vocal craft - all within Barbara’s responses to questions posed in a recent, wide-ranging interview subtitled “The Sheer Joy of Singing”.

A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING (Songs You Love To Hear: Volumes 4-6)

A Grand Night for Singing, a triple album/double CD of 45 Great American Duets, represents volumes 4, 5 and 6 of the Series. Fittingly, the reflective liner notes pay tribute to the memories of her radio colleagues, especially her singing co-star, Johnny Kirby. Beyond the 43 duets sung with Johnny, there are two additional bonus tracks of Barbara singing in duet with her eldest son, Lloyd Stamy, Jr., from the mid 1980s. All of these songs are enduring staples of the Great American Songbook that (hopefully) will be forever embedded in the public consciousness.
